One Book This Week :D
Everyone has something, someone, somewhere else that they’d rather be. For four high-school seniors, their goals of perfection are just as different as the paths they take to get there.
Cara’s parents’ unrealistic expectations have already sent her twin brother Conner spiraling toward suicide. For her, perfect means rejecting their ideals to take a chance on a new kind of love. Kendra covets the perfect face and body—no matter what surgeries and drugs she needs to get there. To score his perfect home run—on the field and off—Sean will sacrifice more than he can ever win back. And Andre realizes that to follow his heart and achieve his perfect performance, he’ll be living a life his ancestors would never have understood.
Everyone wants to be perfect, but when perfection loses its meaning, how far will you go? What would you give up to be perfect?
This will be the first Ellen Hopkins Book I'll read! so I'm very exited about that, BUT I also just learned that this is a companion novel..... Does anyone know if I need to read Impulse first? O.O if you do that would be very helpful :D
anyways, what did YOU Got In Your Mailbox :))
Hope you enjoy it, Jude!

I've not read any of Ellen Hopkins' books yet. I have Crank, but I'm nervous about starting it because of the way it's written. I love the cover of Perfect though. It's stunning.

I would think it might be good to read Impulse first, because Perfect takes place after it. Once you read Impulse, you'll understand why I'm saying this. I'm sure you'll enjoy them both! Ellen Hopkins is amazing. :) I know I can't wait to read Perfect. I'd be reading it right now if I didn't have other books in front of it. :P
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I want to read this one, just because I'm not a fan of poetry and I've heard all her books are written in that format. I'll have to check out your review when it's up! Hope you enjoy it!
