My Review:
Ruby was such a refreshing read, I have read very few books that have witches and magic and this one is by far my favorite. I had been having trouble with books lately, none seemed to actually get my attention. Ruby managed to get a good grip on me and refused to let me go until the very last page. It was a short read and I desperately wanted more, but at the same time I was left very satisfied with the ending of the begging of what I hope to be a pretty amazing series.
I really liked Ruby from the beginning - Ruby the character - she was strong and I was really glad to see that she immediately took upon her role as a witch and was dedicated to her training. Her grandmother was so sweet and nice, and I'm really happy to say that the book never once became tedious, it always kept a good pace with a few thrilling parts here and there. Blaine was also a good character, even though I didn't see much of him, the ending was pretty good. I really hope we get to see a bit more of him and Ruby in the next books. In fact, I demand it: More Hot Guys please! This story was too short to get my fill, so more Blaine please :D! Or simply hot guys for Evie and Bridget :3
Highly entertaining and mysterious - the story gets extra points here. Books that have mysteries tend to have incredibly naive characters that eventually become stupid. Ruby became Stronger. The beginning of an intriguing and adventurous series. I cannot wait for the rest :)
