Summary:
Summer has always looked forward to spending her summers at her Aunt's beach house with the Donovans. To her, summers at Aunt Sookie's beach house was magical, especially getting to spend time with the Donovans - her best friend Rachel and Rachel's brothers Nathaniel, and Drew. Here at Aunt Sookie's beach house, they can be anyone and anything they dreamed. For Summer, she had always wished to become as pretty as Rachel and for her brothers to think of her as more than Rachel's friend. For Nat and Drew, summers at Aunt Sookie's beach house meant fun and escape, a place where they go to with their mom and sister for the summer, away from city life. They never thought this summer would be different. They never thought things would change as much as they did...and it all began with them falling for and loving Summer.

My Review:
I am quite familiar with Kailin Gow's writing style by now, having read her Never Knights series and Saving You, Saving Me. She has this way of writing sort of 'complicated' story-lines and situations in a very simple way. Even though there are many characters or many things going on, they are easy to follow, really entertaining, and also with meaning lessons.
3 guys. 1 girl and an unforgettable summer. Sounds great, right? it also sounds vaguely familiar to The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han. I'll admit, I was so worried it would be like that book, because, in all honesty, I hated that book. Through the first pages I was feeling a bit panicky and looking for something that would remind me of that horrible story, lucky me, Loving Summer did not disappoint me, at all. In fact, I have yet to find a book by Kailin Gow that does.
This may be my favorite Kailin Gow book so far, the writing flowed really well and each character was done in such detail, that you couldn't help but fall in love with all of the guys and Summer - Yes, I am Team Drew so far, but the ending is left open and it is going to be a series! ( a great one, I'm sure) And I cannot wait to see what little twists and turns Perfect Summer has! Because so far, all of the titles from this author tend to take some wild turns here and there, like I said, no disappointments yet.
If you are new to titles from Kailin Gow, I highly recommend Loving Summer to start, if you are a fan already, it is a must read.

I have been meaning to read something by this author for forever now. Perhaps this one is one I need to put on the TBR for this spring/summer. It sounds like the perfect beach read. Glad you liked it, Jude!
