Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish.
Top Ten Reading Goals for 2013
1. Read a least 65 books, which is the number of books I read in 2012.
2. Read 5 books at least before buying more.
3. Read/Listen? more audiobooks.
4. Read no more than 2 books at the same time (already failing on this one)
5. Read more paranormal books.
6. Read Pride and Prejudice.
7. Read the Lord of the Rings books.
8. Read something from John Green (Halfway there, already started with Will Grayson, Will Grayson)
9. Read every single day at least half an hour. Even during finals, I will make time.
10. Read the books I want. I don't know if this one even makes sense, but last year it felt like I was reading out of compromise more than out of pleasure. I just want to enjoy my books this year.
I am determined to do number 2 and I need to work harder on number 4. As for point 6 and 7, I love the movies so so much, I really want to read the novels. Wish me luck! What's your TTT?
This is such a great list! I can't commit to "reading 5 before I buy" even though I probably should. What if I read the first book in the series and want to start the next but I don't have it?!?!? Hehe :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I really love your goal for reading at least 30 minutes every day! I think I'm a happier person when I make time to read. Even when I'm busy!
Good luck achieving all your goals this year!

Thanks and Haha! good point on the series thing! Hadn't thought about it, but right now I am determined x)
DeleteGood luck with all your goals, Jude! I'm planning to read THE FAULT IN OUR STARS this year. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd your number 10? ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY. :D
My Top Ten Tuesday
You'll have to let me know what you thought of The Fault in our Stars. Everyone loves it, but I just refuse to read it, I'm not ready to get all emotional with it yet ^^
Delete*high five on number 10*
I need to do #6 too before I can watch the movie. I already brought myself a copy about four months ago, but never had time to read it yet. D:
ReplyDeleteMy TTT & check out my Most Anticipated 2013 Book Giveaway if you have time! (:
I watched the movie for the first time a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it! It's great that you'll be reading the book first, I hope you enjoy both of them :)!
DeleteBest of luck! I adore Pride and Prejudice, and am rather fond of The Lord of the Rings, too.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's nice to just break from obligatory reading and read for enjoyment. Hope you get lots of fun reading in this year. :)
Thank You! I really hope I enjoy Pride and Prejudice and The Lord of The Rings just as much :)
DeleteGood list. I need to read something by John Green as well and I think it's a really good idea to make yourself read a bit of a book every day.
ReplyDeleteThanks and yes, reading something from John Green seems to be a requirement for all of use book lovers. I hope we both get around to doing it this year! Thanks for stopping by :)
Delete#9 is one of my goals too. Right now I'm so busy with my last year of highschool and preparing for university, I don't get enough time in my day to read.
ReplyDeleteMy last year of High School was so busy! I barely got enough time to read. I hope you get more organized than me and that you enjoy university (personally it's waaaaay better than High School - almost anything is, really x) )
DeleteGreat goals! I LOVE P&P! I just finished The Fault in Our Stars and it really is everything everyone says it is. Reading should always be about fun. Now, I do push myself through some books sometimes, but I love that you're making pleasure reading a priority this year. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my TTT.

Thank You! I don't think I'll start with The Fault in Our Stars... I'm scared of feeling xD everyone says it's great but.. maybe I'll start with something less depressing from him.
DeleteI've never read Pride and Prejudice either. So many people seem to love it but I'm not sure I would enjoy it. I don't think I could get through the Lord of the Rings books either lol I want to read something from John Green but it won't be The Fault in Our Stars or Looking for Alaska as those are too sad. I have Paper Towns an An Abundance of Katherines so I'll probably try those. I definitely want to read more for me without a schedule. I hate schedules so I am cutting back on blog tours except for books I was planning on reading anyway which is actually quite a lot of tours still! LOL
ReplyDeleteI tried reading The Lord of the Rings around two years ago, the writing seemed so incredibly difficult to follow, I'm determined to try again this year, and if I can't again, I'll just go for the Spanish version. I really liked the Pride and Prejudice movie and my mother is trying to shove the book down my throat, says it's one of her favorites, it shouldn't kill me to give it a try.
DeleteGood luck with the book tours! I've been really good and have signed for very few *tear* so proud of myself.
I know EXACTLY what you mean by #10! OMG it is insane! Getting author requests, making appointments to read! Oh god, that one is the most frustrating, especially when you have all those book you bought sitting on your shelf waiting and you wanting to read them!!! Oh goodness, it is definitely a goal of mine too! :)
