Summary:
After a car accident--an event he considers a prank gone bad--pop star, Hunter Kennedy is forced to hide out with his aunt in small-town Colorado. He’s supposed to rest, heal his scars and attend high school in disguise until the press dies down. But he only wants to get back to work.
Worse, the girl who’s been assigned to make him over into a geek is a major geek herself. Vere Roth is a chattering pixie, a blushing tornado and a complete social disaster. He’s never met a girl who’s never-been-kissed, believes in romance and thinks Hunter’s a 'nice' guy.
Funny thing is...Hunter is nice around Vere because she’s his first real friend. He also can’t seem to stop sharing his secrets or keep her out of his heart. Knowing he’d never deserve a girl as sweet as Vere, he resigns himself to the friend zone, and helps his new bestie with her own makeover.
She tortures him daily for ridiculous guy advice on how to snag her life-long crush. A guy Hunter thinks is totally wrong for Vere, and sadly, one who has taken note of Vere’s transformation.
When Vere asks her best friend for some kissing advice, Hunter can’t resist...
And that’s when things get out of control...

My Review:
Star Hunter Kennedy made a mistake, a BIG mistake, one that cost him a trip to Colorado to visit his aunt, one that forces him to find a new (dorky) identity and one that is forcing a permanent shadow over him. Hunter arrives to Colorado as a little ball of depression, but this is where Vere comes in, bringing contrast to his lifestyle, a breath of fresh air and together they will help each other.
Now first things first: The plot. When I first read the summary I was all giddy and couldn't wait to see how the story would turn out, especially because I couldn't get the picture of the movie The Prince and Me out of my mind (No, Hunter is not a prince, he's a singer.). Of course they are both different but just as entertaining. Hunter was a character I really liked from the beginning and it was easy to sympathize with him. Vere was a little bit harder to adjust too, when I first started reading she and I were not clicking. I understood that she was a shy character that blushed easily but at times her conduct felt cheesy and I would roll my eyes at her. 25% into the book my issues with her were pushed aside and I was able to follow Vere and Hunter more easily (It is told in alternative POV) their love story developing, their trust slowly building, and a perfect first kiss.
The story was more than just a fluffy read, Hunter's situation adding depth to it. I thought the pace of the story was perfect, everything developed neatly and even though it was a predictable read it was still very enjoyable to watch how things unravel. The ending was a bit too happy for my taste but, honestly all cute stories deserve good endings, and speaking of happy, I constantly had a smile on my face while reading this book, and considering I've been under quite the stress lately (Barely one week back at school and I'm already stressed) this book was just what I needed :) A great Chick-Lit!
This sounds really cute!!! Too bad Vere was a little overly cheesy and shy lol but glad you still fell for the couple. I loved The Prince and Me!!! I love these kinds of plots where someone famous is trying to hide out and play normal. Hope the school stress lightens soon. Sometimes I miss it but then I just drive by a campus and I swear I feel stressed again!
