Oh dear God, my answer is gonna be supper corny and typical girly like... *Deep Breath* I want a nice, realistic fiction Love story xD!

I'd Love to be trapped inside a Sarah Dessen Novel or a Jennifer Echols one.. also Carolyn Mackler. I just LOOOOVE Love Stories, and I want one with a prince charming [not literally prince] right here with me. Hey, you can't blame me, I'm a seventeen year old! I still want to believe in fairy tales :P

What new genre I'm currently in Love with? well, Realistic Fiction is my number 1 - not a newsflash from me - umm... I'm really into Chick-Lit right now, I usually read Sarah Dessen, Sarah Ockler and Jandy Nelson but I've been really into Lauren Barnhold, Susane Colasanti and Jennifer Echols, I'm really Loving Chick-Lit <3

Today I've seen a lot of Blogs mention Dystopian and *gulp* I'll say it. I'm not a fan of the genre and.... *gulp, gulp* I.... I... I haven't even finished reading The Hunger Games. Don't Kill Me!!! I just didn't think it was amazing, it was good! just not amazing. Oh dear lord, You guys are probably already tracking me down xD

Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?).

Wow, I have so many!!!! I'll mention them real quick, I promise ;)

Alice In Wonderland: I was so obseced with Alice in Wonderland as a kid, I didn't understand ANY of it, so I got into understanding every single metaphor Lewis Carroll used in his book. From then on I think of books as a treasure chest. You need to read between the lines, then you'll find the treasure :)

Just Listen: the first book I read by Sarah Dessen, she awakened my Love for Realistic Fiction. to the date its my favorite genre. my favorite Novel of her's is Along For The Ride.

Take Me There: Carolee Dean made such a complex and beautiful character for this novel, to the date Dylan in my favorite character of all and I constantly find myself comparing lead characters to him.

Going Too Far: A Real Love Story. no supernatural or unbelivable circumstances. Just a Love Story. A Perfect Love Story. Love stories are my favorites and Jennifer Echols makes the best.

Thirteen Reasons Why: Can't see life the same way anymore.

Forbidden: Shit. just... Shit! I'm still in shock O.O


Is this cheating? I just can't name one single book xD!

Well, the first person that came to my mind was Tabitha Suzuma. Her book Forbidden was just so Amazing, I think I'd definitely like to meet her up for coffee, I'd as so many question that it would probably take a whole day to answer ^^

also Sarah Dessen, but I think I'd need Weeks to talk with her, all her books, everything, it would be just WOW!

and Jennifer Echols. her books are amazing, I would love to sit and talk with her about her books! her writing style is amazing and her characters jump of the page! I also love how she can entwine the beautiful romance with drama and deep situations :))

I Buy all of my Books at Borders. Period. all my hardcovers, paperbacks and such are all from Borders, its the nearest bookstore to where I live. I can't take books out of a library in the us because I'm Mexican and I'm not a fan of e-books so I just don't buy them. Books that are not available in Borders I buy in Amazon -which are very few.

So yeah... I'm usually low on budget U_U

What keeps you reading beyond the first few pages of a book, and what makes you want to stop reading a book and put it back on the shelf?

I need to feel connected, I don't know how to explain it, when I 'm not connected with a book, it does not matter If I place it back on the shelf or if I leave to go eat dinner, or watch some television; its just not on my mind, I can easily forget it and move on.
When I love a book I can't stop thinking about it, when I eat, watch televison or anything and I just have to continue. That's gets me hooked on a book.

Reasons why I can't get connected:
*I can't get inside the characters mind
*Storyline is not believable
*I'm being forced to read a book -school.
*I've heard very bad critics - programed mind.

In light of the Summer Solstice. Also known as Midsummer...let's talk about fairies. What is your favorite fairy tale or story that revolves around the fae?

Are  Faeries and Pixies the same O.o? 'Cause I have no idea, but a book that actually says Faeries. No, I have not read a book with faeries in them. But I have read one with Pixies! if they're the same then yay! if not then... um. I'll have to read a Faeries book soon.

Pixie Book I've read: the Need Series by Carrie Jones! I LOVE those books! and the covers are Amazing.

I had never, EVER read a book until I was 15 in Christmas. my mom gave me the twilight books and I did not intend on reading them but I felt bad for not at least giving them a try since they where a present. I started and could not stop. I finished in one week all four books. They where in Spanish and I loved them so much! but, sadly, in Mexico there are no YA books, only twilight, the immortal series and the mortal instruments - traduced of course - so I figured, Want to read? You learn English. And I did! so yes! I was 15 years old when I discovered books and started reading in English, I now have an awesome book club on Goodreads and my Blog!

Summer Love: Where is your ideal place to take a 

summer vacation & get lost in a book?

 

PALMS SPRINGS!!! No doubt! I LOVE it there! sometimes its way to hot but, to be near the pool in a nice love seat it's perfect. special the hotel I always stay in <3

and... VEGAS. lol, I know, the most calming place on earth. Believe it or not I LOVE vegas and  I sometimes just go to random casinos and install myself somewhere and start reading. I love it.

Realistic Fiction!! No Doubt! I started reading books like twilight or the mortal instruments and a lot similiar in genre, but when I bought my first Sarah Dessen Book - Just Listen - I knew that I loved that genre and that it would be my favorite. To the day my favorite books are all realistic fiction - except for Entwined which is a Fairytale - I do have favorites in other genres but, my top, are realistic fiction.

Well, between my to-read pile to-buy pile and the one's already in my shelf they're, somewhere around. . .136 books. and I just made cleaning. The list naturally grows longer because there are so many new books coming out and I want then all! and also all during the school period I bought books every week and didn't read them due to exams homework and such BUT we're on Summer Vacations! and I just started picking up my pace!!!

The ones I want sooo bad are:
Stay by Deb Caletyi, Hourglass by Myra McEntire, Hereafter by Tara Hudson, Love Story by Jennifer Echols and Chain Reaction by Simone Elkeles.

And the ones I want to read soo bad but I have are:
Forget You by Jennifer Echols, Life, Afer by Littman, Sarah Darer and Dash and Lily's book of dares by Cohn, Rachel

The magic book fairy pops out of your cereal box and says "you and your favorite character (from a book of course) can switch places!" Who are you going to switch with?

Now this is complicate. I LOVE a lot of characters but would not want to be in their situations. At all. Example: The Sky is Everywhere, I love Lennie but i don't want my Sister - in my case Brother to die. and I want my Mom with me.

I guess I'll go with Auden from Along For The Ride. Yup, her life isn't that much of an improvement but I would love to spend a summer where she did and meet everyone in the book, and do a few Chicken Salads, if you know what I mean xD

Veronica Roth. Veronica Roth is the Author of Divergent, a very aclaimed YA Dystopian Novel which I have not read. Lame right? but I am a Big Fan Follower of her Blog, and what Miss Roth has to say ALWAYS leaves me impressed and not alone and lost of other stuff that just make me want to sit with her at a nice Cafe and talk about whatever :))

I DO have Divergent but I guess I'm a little afraid to read it and get disappointed and stop Loving her. *Sigh* pretend Coffee chop conversations are soo complicated.

YA Saves: How do you feel about the "dark" books 

filling the YA shelves today?

 

I don't think YA Books are "Dark" at all. Dark is to watch the 6pm news and see whom is being murdered every day, drug deals, kidnaps, and so. In any case, if the YA books touch this subjects, they are not "Dark" they are Real. And as for "Explicit Content" come on! we're teenagers! not nuns! - no insult to nuns, it is just a metaphor ^^ - and parents are in charge of this stuff in any case, not authors. If you don't want your kids to read it, then don't buy them for them. Some "Dark" Material could be Thirteen Reasons Why, which was, no doubt, a strong novel about suicide. It was twisted in many ways but still an open minder. And Open Minds, Open Eyes, and Open Young Adults, is was this world needs.



It had been a LONG time since my last FF. It feels great to be back :D!

Standalone vs. Series: what's your stance?

 

Well, in YA paranormal fiction is almost IMPOSSIBLE to find standalone books which, in YA realistic fiction is usually the only thing you'll find. I really like it when in one books you get everything, beginning, middle and ending. I don't like series because sometimes, from the moment I finish book one to the moment book two comes out, I usually already forgot the details of the series and lost that need of the books. Still like them, but I don't have that hunger for them anymore. If the whole series is finished then I'm in. Also, I don't like in series when you can just tell that the authors are making things  up to keep it going. For example: The House Of Night Series, I'm a HUGE fan of the series, but I really do think the authors went a little overboard with this where the story is going now :/

I'm more of a fan of Standalone.

But as always, it is hard to let go of characters or the story, so Series really are cool.

I don't know... I think I'm 60% Standalone and 40% Series ^^

First, IRL mean In Real Life. I had no Idea. Had to ask my friend Yani xD

And yes I do have someone, Her name is Elaine, We both love to read and we both read in English. and since she has no space in her bookshelf for more books she gives them to me and I take care of them. She LOVES vampire, werewolf. angel, pixie, ANY book that has to do with Paranormal Fantasy, and something funny about her, there ALWAYS has to be a hot guy, sometimes that makes it difficult to share our love for books since I'm more Realistic-Fiction fan. She bakes like a Goddess!! specially cookies... they tend to look Horrible xD but they taste like heaven. She's one of the sweetest person I've ever met. She has been with me since Junior High, though we weren't really friend there, we where just in the backlogging on each of out lives. Then High school, and now we are both going to the same University, to study the same. I Love her, and she's Book/reading confident ^^.

As a special comment, there isn't that many people with whom to share my love for books with, so that's why I created my Blog and my Group on YABC. how I met Yani - my Yoda - and some other wonderful people that are also online.

I am reading Choker by Elizabeth Woods, and so far the main character - Cara - its a little weird.... or at least I haven't completely made my mind on her yet. Because in the beginning she seems weak, though after being bullied by years you sorta DO get some low self-esteem, then when Zoe arrives - her BF and it would seem that she's the "Bad Guy" - Cara starts to act strange, a lot like Zoe, which is just twisted. though her self-esteem does improve. and by now Cara has finally stopped acting like Zoe and is starting to see just how crazy and wrong Zoe is. 

Like I said. My mind is not made yet. Can't wait 'till the ending thought! so I can finally decide if I like her or not xD.

Soo can't wait :))

Do you judge a book by it's cover?

Yes. Yes. Yes. ALWAYS.

I always check the covers, if the cover is pretty, I'll read the summary and then decide. When the cover's not pretty I'll doubt it.

I can't help it. I know it's bad but come ON! pretty cover are much more.... umm... prettier xD?
In fact, I have a special section in my bookshelf for the books with prettier covers, neatly placed so that they can show off.

Surely I've discovered that Good Covers don't equal Good Books. some are Cover Love-Book Suck. It happens. A LOT ^^

If I Stay by Gayle Foreman. Damn - pardon me but- DAMN. this book got me bawling my eyes out! a serious must read. So sad and yet so beautiful :D

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. there's this part by the end of the book, where (name) is listening to Hanna saying goodbye, and it's just such an emotional part! I mean, I was TORN APART. Literary. another MUST READ. Brilliant book. and I brilliantly cried ^^.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I cried like a baby when... someone dies. I won't say whom but I'll give a hint: Katniss sings a song after. it was SOOO sad.

Other titles in which I THINK I cried. I can't rember  xDD!! but at least they did got me sentimental:
The Sky Is Everywhere. Twenty Boy Summer. The Dead-Tossed Waves. Before I Fall.

I this policy with books: If they make you cry, whatever the reason, they are EXCELLENT BOOKS. No matter if they don't become your favorites. still, they got to your core. it counts.
