Once Scarlet meets Tristan Archer, her life becomes even more muddled. She’s instinctively drawn to both of them and confused out of her mind. My Review:
O.M.G. I love/hate cliffhangers. My mind is going through that confusing process of trying to absorb everything. Like why on earth had I never picked up this book sooner? I had seen it around many times before, and never really got to reading it *face palm.* The good news is that I eventually did read it. So incredibly worth it.
Anew is a story that unravels all of its mysteries slowly, one by one, teasing and giving half truths. You have an idea of what's going on, but you never know just how far these characters are taking things - Like Tristan. I was completely shocked when I found out what he was up to. And I don't want to say anymore in case I'll spoil but wow, Tristan was mysteriously dreamy and sexy and with just the right amount of tortured soul in him. He didn't came off as a victim, he really did seem strong and he really cared for Scarlet. There was just so much going on in Anew, We had soul-mate deep romance, love triangle with brothers! (now that's something I hadn't read before), mystery, great writing style and fabulous characters (Except for Heather, I did not like her. She was cute but if she mentioned Gabriel and Tristan were part of the mob one more time I was going to slap her...)
Back to the writing style - I loved it. It was fun, easy to follow and the dialog was realistic (just forgive Heather's crazy mob theories). The idea of the kissing festival was pure genius. I have no idea if such a thing exists, if it does, I want to know where so I can visit. If it doesn't, we should make it as important as Christmas, I have a long list of people I want to kiss - let's just hope fictional characters are included, Tristan is at the top <3
Intriguing, page turned and heartbreaking in literal ways - at least for Scarlet it is - If you love a good romance with a paranormal touch, Anew is most certainly the book for you. Highly suggest you have the sequel in hand, or else you'll end up like me. Biting your nails and begging for the sequel. Speaking of which, I'm off to order it ;)
Read it - you won't regret it.
