Summary
Gabry lives a quiet life. As safe a life as is possible in a town trapped between a forest and the ocean, in a world teeming with the dead, who constantly hunger for those still living. She’s content on her side of the Barrier, happy to let her friends dream of the Dark City up the coast while she watches from the top of her lighthouse. But there are threats the Barrier cannot hold back. Threats like the secrets Gabry’s mother thought she left behind when she escaped from the Sisterhood and the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Like the cult of religious zealots who worship the dead. Like the stranger from the forest who seems to know Gabry. And suddenly, everything is changing. One reckless moment, and half of Gabry’s generation is dead, the other half imprisoned. Now Gabry only knows one thing: she must face the forest of her mother’s past in order to save herself and the one she loves.

My Review:
Let me start by saying that I haven’t read The Forest Of Hands and Teeth. Why? Because I don’t read fine print, and so, never saw that the book says A companion to The Forest Of Hands and Teeth. Luckily, I completely understood this book. Sure, there were things that weren’t fully explained and yeas, I have a few questions but, all in all, I could’ve not have been a series and still work out perfectly well.
When I first read the summary of the book I thought, Zombies? Seriously? But WOW, the way Carrie Ryan describes the world and takes care of the emotions of her characters makes it all just so Believable! I mean, I had Goosebumps practically the whole book ^^. The only thing that at times annoyed me was Gabry – our main character – at times all I wanted to say to her was to suck it up and keep going. Though this was also a pro ‘cause, almost always we have strong kick A. characters, so seeing Gabry was like fresh air. And Realistic. We’re not all made of steel and Splenda. Some of us are made of sweet sugar and Jelly.
Currently I am Dying to know what happens next. ‘Cause even though it didn’t end like, super shocking or as a complete cliffhanger. I. Still. NEED. To. Know. O.O
New Fan of Carrie Ryan. Beautifully written. Heart Breaking. Heart Racing. The Dead-Tossed Waves is a must-zombie-read…. Preferably after you read The Forest Of Hands And Teeth xD

"It's never been a perfect world. It's never going to be. It's going to be hard and scary, and if you're lucky, wonderful and awe-inspiring. But you have to push through the bad parts to get to the good."
"I realize that life is risks. It’s acknowledging the past but looking forward. It’s taking a chance that we will make mistakes but believing that we all deserve to be forgiven."
