Summary
1 Wish. 2 Girls Who Love The Same Boy. 14 Days To Stop The Madness!
Kayla McHenry's sweet sixteen sucks! Her dad left, her grades dropped, and her BFF is dating the boy Kayla's secretly loved for years. Blowing out her candles, Kayla thinks: I wish my birthday wishes actually came true. Because they never freakin' do.
Kayla wakes the next day to a life-sized, bright pink My Little Pony outside her window. Then a year's supply of gumballs arrives. A boy named Ken with a disturbing resemblance to the doll of the same name stalks her. As the ghosts of Kayla's wishes-past appear, they take her on a wild ride . . . but they MUST STOP. Because when she was fifteen? She wished Ben Mackenzie would kiss her. And Ben is her best friend's boyfriend.

My Review:
Oh-oh…. Kayla McHenry is in trouble, BIG trouble. First a My Little Pony, then gumballs, and a creepy guy that looks like Ken equals: A hilarious story. As each day in Kayla’s life passed, I was anxious to see what wish would come to life. A few of them where ok, and others simply had me cracking up.
You Wish is a light read novel with a nice and at times, sarcastic sense of humor, which comes mainly from Kayla, who is a cynical person, feels perfectly comfortable under her skin, and likes to make fun of the it girls. The Story has its romance- Ben Mackenzie, cute, funny and motocross guy. Problem: he has a girlfriend. Girlfriend: Nicole. Nicole: Kayla’s Best Friend. When I saw this is the summary I thought, another girl falling for her Bf’s Boyfriend? And I had my doubts on buying, but curiosity killed me. And it turned out to be a really great book, Kayla knows perfectly well she can’t see Ben, and she never tries to steal him away or anything. At the end, of course, a few thing happen. But she never puts the guy before Nicole.
The only thing I didn’t liked so much about the story was, ironically, Kayla. I thought of her as a really judging person. Total snob. I think that if Kayla hadn’t been such a harsh person, the wishes, or more like their repercussions, would’ve have been more funny. But, the fact that she was the way she was, gave it some depth to the story, from her parents’ divorce, her problems with her mom, and accepting the differences of everyone. At the end, Kayla does learn a valuable lesson. That we do not have to judge everyone, that being a good friend is hard, never to take things for granted, and most important: Careful what you wish for. . . ‘cause you just might get it.
A light read, Hilarious, unimaginable wishes, embarrassing parts, a LOT of madness, and sometimes a little disgusting (there’s a part where she doesn’t shower in like, a week!!! xD). You Wish is a fun read for everyone, of any age.
